Lampu HID ganggu penglihatan pengguna jalanraya

  In this article is in Bahasa Melayu (Malaysia National Language) - it talking about the bad thing about using the HID (High-Intensity Discharge) - I agree it does make other driver distracted.  

  Differences between the normal light & HID light  

Ramai pengguna jalanraya mengadu yang mereka menghadapi masalah dengan pemandu yang menggunakan lampu HID (High-Intensity Discharge) terutama pada waktu malam. Penglihatan mereka terganggu akibat dari kenderaan yang menggunakan lampu tinggi kerana silau cahaya yang terlampau terang.  Ini boleh mendatangkan bahaya kepada penglihatan pemandu lain sekaligus membawa risiko kemalangan di jalanraya.

Pemandu yang memandu kereta dengan lampu HID ini mungkin menyukainya sebab ianya terang dengan kecerahan yang tinggi namun bagi pemandu yang terpaksa berdepan dengan lampu HID ini terpaksa berhati-hati sebab lampu HID terlalu silau lebih-lebih lagi ketika mereka membuka lampu tinggi pada waktu malam. Begitu juga ketika waktu hujan lebat sukar untuk nampak cahaya lampu putih HID dan ini pasti boleh membawa kepada kemalangan sekiranya tidak berhati-hati ketika memandu.

Laman sesawang Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) secara jelas menyebut bahawa penggunaan High intensity Discharged (HID) Headlamp iaitu lampu yang tidak menggunakan filament tetapi menggunakan Gas Xenon. Pemasangan lampu HID secara aksesori (Retrofit) adalah tidak dibenarkan kecuali penukaran keseluruhan sistem lampu tersebut dengan mendapat akreditasi daripada badan yang diberi kuasa seperti SIRIM.

Pada 19 November 2007, JPJ telah mengemaskini C&U dan memasukkan peraturan kawalselia terhadap penggunaan lampu HID di dalam Kaedah 96 (2) (i) yang menyatakan "sekiranya lampu HID digunakan, pemasangan,spesifikasi dan sistem lampu tersebut hendaklah mematuhi peraturan UNECE 48, UNECE 98 dan UNECE 99".

Penguatkuasaan terhadap kenderaan yang menggunakan lampu HID yang dipasang secara aksesori (Retrofit) boleh diambil tindakan dibawah Kaedah 94 Kaedah-kaedah Kenderaan Bermotor (Pembinaan dan Kegunaan) 1959 iaitu 'keadaan kenderaan bermotor yang digunakan di atas jalan raya dan semua bahagian dan aksesorinya hendaklah sentiasa tidak mengakibatkan atau mungkin mengakibatkan berbahaya pada orang di dalam kenderaan atau di atas jalanraya', kesalahan ini boleh didenda sehingga RM 2000 atau penjara bagi tempoh tidak lebih 6 bulan dibawah seskyen 119(1) APJ 1987. Pemandu/pemilik akan diberi masa selama sepuluh hari (10) untuk memperbetulkan lampu tersebut kepada lampu asal.

Bagaimanapun, peraturan ini tidak dikuatkuasa sepenuhnya oleh pihak berkuasa. Semakin banyak kenderaan yang memasang lampu putih ini walaupun ia membahayakan pengguna jalan raya yang lain.  Mungkin lampu HID ini hanya sesuai untuk kenderaan yang masuk ke dalam pedalaman atau kawasan yang gelap.  Kalau mereka hendak memasang juga, perlulah cari keadah yang terbaik seperti dipasang untuk lampu tinggi saja dan lampu rendah hendaklah dipasang dengan lampu biasa. Lampu ini hanya sesuai digunakan di tempat yang gelap yang tiada kenderaan menuju arah yang bertentangan agar ianya tidak merbahayakan pengguna jalan yang lain.

Pihak JPJ dan kerajaan sepatutnya mengawal lampu HID dijual secara bebas di kedai aksesori kenderaan dan kenderaan baru juga perlu mengikut spesifikasi asal bukannya boleh diubah-suai sesuka hati sehingga menyalahi peraturan pengangkutan jalanraya.

Walaubagaimana pun kepada mereka yang berkenaan seharusnya memikirkan juga pengguna jalanraya lain, jangan disebabkan mereka pentingkan diri sendiri sehingga ianya boleh mengancam nyawa pengguna jalanraya lain  Jadilah pemandu yang bertimbang rasa ketika memandu di jalanraya agar pengguna jalanraya selamat sampai ke destinasi. Tindakan undang-undang adalah jalan terakhir untuk mereka yang ingkar mematuhi peraturan jalanraya.

#1.0 First method: Using a SMS (Short Text Messages) to submit your fuel consumption.

To start using this service, you just need to send a SMS of your first fueling at any petrol station. Here is the sample of the SMS text composition

 Then, you have to sent it to number 39118.
After that a response will be received as per sample below.

This is the sample of the response message with the report of fuel consumption. If you are submit it first time, you will received a different message.

Shell have run a campaign called Target One Million to help one million motorists all over the world to drive more efficiently and save fuel. Basically it is a game that has been designed to test your fuel efficiency skills to the limit! The score is based on a four (4) combination variables which include of your on-road driving style, fuel consumption, vehicle set up and time taken to cross the finish line.

The Shell FuelSave's Target One Million game is a series of fun, interactive, mini-games and by putting Shell's fuel-saving tips into action when playing, you can learn to drive smarter and save fuel in the process!.

The game is a place for you to show off your smartest driving skills and see if you can complete the Shell FuelSave Challenge. Before we start the game, we need to setup our vehicle especially on the boot stuff, tire pressure, any extra loading on roof and on-road driving style will affect your vehicle's fuel efficiency.

  Setup Your Car First  

 The four (4) main things you will setup your car as per below.

  Remove any rack on roof top, especially for cyclist with their Thule rack  

  Carry ONLY NEEDED item in your boot  

  Shell is suggesting to use Shell FuelSave Ron 95, however in real life, it is up to you  

  Put your tyres with good amount of air  

Once everything is setup, you will ask to start the game.

 During the game, you only need to push two (2) buttons, the Power or Brake button. The power button will accelerate your car and it will consume the fuel when you push it, so, push it adequately especially on the flat road, climbing and donwhill situation.

This is an interesting hybrid car that available world wide. The dashboard is well built and arranged which is unsurprising from the famous Japanese car manufacturer.
